Norton Commando Vinyl Jukebox unveiled at TT 2018

26th June 2018

Norton Motorcycles and Sound Leisure collaborate to create stunning vinyl jukebox in celebration of the 50th Anniversary of the iconic Commando

There was no more appropriate setting for the unveiling of the stunning Norton Commando Jukebox than the Isle of Man TT where this year, Norton celebrated the 50th Anniversary of the legendary Commando.

True icons are a rarity but with its forward-canted parallel twin engine and quintessential styling, the Norton Commando is universally acknowledged as being an all-time classic. This iconic styling is reflected in a new, limited edition vinyl jukebox, produced by UK manufacturer, Sound Leisure. Each hand-built jukebox is adorned with an authentic black and gold paint scheme, solid aluminium chromed castings and decorative speaker grill. The Norton Commando Jukebox is enhanced with bespoke Norton features such as a genuine rev-counter, configured to reach 45rpm when playing tracks. Personalisation options include unique number plate selection.

Sound Leisure are renowned across the globe for their hand-built British jukeboxes. Celebrating 40 years of manufacturing, they are the only company in the world producing a vinyl playing jukebox. The Commando’s classic rotating player mechanism holds 70 vinyl singles and delivers a ‘full-throttle’ sound through its 5-way speaker system. In addition to the 70 vinyl records, the Norton Commando Jukebox also benefits from Bluetooth connectivity, enabling external devices to be connected to the system.

Stuart Garner, CEO of Norton Motorcycles, is delighted with this exciting collaboration: “The partnership of Norton and Sound Leisure brings together the cream of Great British design and engineering excellence and the result is a musical masterpiece. The build quality is incredible, and one look really is all it takes to embrace its classic design. I am sure that Norton enthusiasts the world over will fall in love at first sight, as I did.”

Chris Black of Sound Leisure added: “From the outset, it has been a great privilege to work with Stuart and his team at Norton to create this tribute to the iconic motorcycle. The Norton Commando Jukebox is as beautiful and distinctive as the bike it pays homage to. Both companies are proud British manufacturers who create and deliver the highest quality of engineering to discerning customers throughout the world.”
