Boris Becker visits the Barclays Hospitality Suite at the ATP Finals 2011

Barclays kiosk

In late 2011 SLRetail, Sound Leisure’s Retail division, completed the development and manufacture of 3 ‘Contactless Payment’ donation kiosks for Barclay Card, the global banking and financial services company.

The 3 month project involved the custom development of kiosks, software and contactless payment solution, enabling Barclays VIP guests attending the ATP tennis tournament at London’s 02 arena to make charitable donations at the venue while and try out a ‘Contactless Payment’ experience. The software development included a client facing, interactive touch screen interface which enables guests to select and view video content about each charity, select an individual charity to donate to, then make the donation using Contactless technology.

Sound Leisure first demonstrated Contactless Payment technology in 2010 when a prototype solution was integrated in to the VHub digital jukebox platform, launched in January 2011. Since that time, the company has established itself as a leader in the ‘Contactless Payment’ field and is currently working with several high profile companies and brands on ‘Contactless Payment’ related developments. The Barclaycard ATP project is just of a number of ‘Contactless Payment’ developments completed by Sound Leisure for the banking company in the past 12 months.
