We are extremely proud of our Head of Manufacturing, Caroline Burrows, who won the ‘Manufacturing Leader of the year’ award at last night’s Leeds Manufacturing awards ceremony.

Caroline joined Sound Leisure is 2024 and made an instant impact on the way our factory was run.

Sam Sleight from Made In Yorkshire who sponsored this award commented,

One of the most compelling parts of the supporting evidence was the impact she has had on an individual member of the shop floor team. Through patient, supportive and consistent leadership, she helped him change the way he approached challenges, build confidence in his own problem-solving ability and create a clearer path for his future development, including beginning work towards Level 2 in Lean Manufacturing.

Operationally, she has also encouraged her team to challenge existing processes, collaborate more effectively with suppliers and find practical solutions that improve efficiency, quality and ownership across production. Alongside this, she has strengthened links with UTC Leeds by creating meaningful T Level placement opportunities and encouraging other businesses to support young people entering manufacturing.

Congratulations to Caroline and all of the other award nominees and winners on their achievements.
