Following last month’s preview of the Beatles themed “Sgt Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band” Jukebox at International Beatles week in Liverpool, we are proud to announce that we are now entering production.
Working alongside industry veteran Mike Ansell of Lordsvale/Jingle Games a worldwide licence agreement has been signed with The Beatles’ company Apple Corps Ltd. The limited edition jukebox, designed and manufactured by Sound Leisure’s ‘Custom Shop’ team will be based on the companies unique 7″ vinyl Rocket jukebox model.
The iconic Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band album celebrated its 50th Anniversary this year. It was the first rock LP to win four Grammy Awards in 1968 and contained some of the best well-known Beatles tracks, including ‘With A Little Help From My Friends’ and ‘Lucy In the Sky With Diamonds’. Jingle Games and Sound Leisure will distribute the machine in the UK with Sound Leisure handling all the export orders through their global partners and distributors.
Mike Ansell stated:
“ I am very pleased to be working with Sound Leisure once again. It’s sixteen years since we collaborated on the first Beatles jukebox for Lordsvale and the Yellow Submarine jukebox is now a highly collectable and sought after jukebox. Sound Leisure remain world leaders in jukebox design and manufacture so we could not ask for a better partner for this project.”
Mike Black of Sound Leisure added:
“ It has been a fantastic experience working with Mike and the Apple Corps team again on this ‘Custom Shop’ project. I believe we have collectively created a machine that captures and celebrates a very special moment in time. As the jukebox has a limited production run and is based on our 7″ vinyl platform, we are confident the Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band Jukebox will go on to become a highly exclusive jukebox and collectors piece. This type of project always attracts an interesting client base so I can’t wait to see where some of these amazing jukeboxes end up finding homes across the world.”
